Livia Klausová was born November 10, 1943 in Bratislava, Slovakia. She is 65-years-old. Her maiden name is Livia Rosamunda Mištinová. She is the First Lady of The Czech Republic and has been since her husband assumed the Presidency on March 7, 2003.
She is an economist by profession. She is a patron on the arts in The Czech Republic and actively involved in a number of charities, particularly help for orphans, the elderly, the handicapped and other people who are not able to care for themselves. She is an Honorary Benefactor of the Czech bank of marrow donors. She supports the revival of national traditions as well as economic and educational development.
She and her husband, Vaclav Klaus, married in 1968. They have two sons, Václav Klaus and Jan Klaus, and five grandchildren.
