Kindly please remove this "first Lady of Malaysia" from the website as there is no such thing as the Fist Lady of Malaysia. Thank you.
Why isn't there a first lady in Malaysia? who is the wife of the leader of your country? thanks
Well, it's because Malaysia is a monarchy. The term "First Lady" is normally reserved for the wives of elected heads of state (that is, wives of presidents).
You don't hear anyone referring to Samantha Cameron as the "First Lady of the UK", do you?
*sorry, typo...
"she is our PM's wife, not our First Lady"
I'm Malaysian... and Our First Lady is Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah... (her actual name is only Nur Zahirah, she bear honorific titles "Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong")
Please remove that title from Datin Seri Rosmah, she is our PM leader, not First Lady.
*sorry, typo…
“she is our PM’s wife, not our First Lady”
I beg to differ. You only use "First Lady" if your country is a republic. The title is reserved for the wife of a president.
Just a couple more examples: Queen Sofia is never referred to as the First Lady of Spain, but rather the Queen Consort of Spain.
Likewise, nobody calls Queen Sirikit the "First Lady" of Thailand, since Thailand doesn't have a president for its head of state.
Conversely, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy may be addressed as the "First Lady" (Première Dame) of France by virtue of her status as the president's wife...and even then, this title is not in official usage.
As for the wives of prime ministers, well...they're just called the wives of prime ministers. Notwithstanding the contents of this website. ;)
there is no first lady in our malaysia..what a shame that rosmah call herself as "first lady".. her face is too thick that can bare those shame or she misunderstand shame = fame??
Its probably some comical thing some people did in ill advising the woman's need to re-brand herself.Maybe they thought it was clever and right.Long way to go woman...
The first lady of the world are mostly well respected and loved by the people. This female person is in my opinion the most hated and despised in Malaysia at the moment.
