Former Miss Sri Lanka and a finalist at the Miss Universe pageant, Madam Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa has continued to be an icon for Sri Lankan women from her young days. Age never deteriorating her youth and time never eclipsing her spirit, this beauty with a mission used these opportunities as a platform to be a voice creating awareness and invoking interest not just about our emerald isle, but about issues faced by our women and the solutions needed to face them successfully.

First Lady Madam Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa is a proud mother to three sons – Namal aged 23, Yoshitha aged 22 and Rohitha aged 20.

A hands-on mother who guided and moulded the boys into being the humble, caring, charitable men they are today, she has instilled in them values and morals that is vital in making a positive difference in society.

Her eldest son Lakshman Namal Rajapaksa completed his LLB in London and is the brainchild behind Tharunyata Hetak (Aspiration for the Youth) – currently Sri Lanka’s largest youth organization committed to uplift and empower the youth of Sri Lanka through educational, sport and other vocational training workshops and projects. Her second son Yoshitha is a Naval Officer at the Sri Lanka Navy and has just embarked on a Masters in Ukraine with a full scholarship. Her youngest Rohitha is pursuing a double degree in Space Systems and Aeronautical Engineering in the UK.
